Box For Glasses "Tile" Camellia Century XVII

Store your eyewear in a Terra Lusa glasses case, featuring a beautiful “Tile” Camellia Century XVII design. The first known azulejos in Portugal were Spanish-Moorish tiles imported from Seville around 1503.

By the second half of the sixteenth century, Flemish ceramists had arrived in Lisbon and initiated a proper Portuguese production. The Camélia theme, named by Santos Simões, was commonly seen on 17th-century glazed tiles.

Inspired by the peony flower and often mistaken for a rose, the Camélia represented purity and virginity when used in religious spaces. Our glasses cases are part of a collection that pays tribute to Portugal’s rich cultural heritage, with products inspired by history, culture, and tradition.
